Psychotherapist | Psychodynamic, CBT & DBT | Adults & Children (14+) | Online & In-Person
Ruveena Birdi is a passionate and experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. Her training focused on the Psychodynamic approach, exploring how early relationships and past experiences shape present day emotions and behaviours with a particular emphasis on attachment and relational patterns.
With years of experience working within the NHS, Ruveena also incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to offer clients practical coping strategies for managing emotional distress, anxiety, and behavioural challenges. She works with both adults and children aged 14+, supporting a wide range of presentations.
Ruveena understands that therapy can feel daunting, and she is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore past, present, or future concerns at their own pace. She views therapy as a collaborative journey one that therapist and client embark on together.
To help clients feel confident in their choice, Ruveena offers a free 15-minute consultation via phone or Zoom to answer any questions about her approach. Sessions are 50 minutes long, available online or face-to-face, and offered on an open-ended basis.
In your first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and discuss what’s bringing you to therapy. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with—there’s no pressure. Together, we’ll explore what support might look like for you.
Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, but this can be adjusted based on your needs and preferences.
Yes—confidentiality is a key part of therapy. What you share stays between us, except in rare circumstances where there may be a serious risk of harm to you or someone else. This will be explained clearly in our first meeting.
Absolutely. I offer online video sessions and phone therapy for clients who prefer remote support or can’t attend in person. These options are just as effective and confidential as in-person sessions.
